About FTP

An FTP site has been set up to help you interact and exchange files with Koning Eizenberg Architecture.

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. This protocol provides a standard way to transfer files between computers, regardless of the operating system on each computer (Windows, DOS, MacOS, UNIX, etc.). It is the most common protocol used for exchanging files between computers on the Internet.

Where It Is and How It Works

The ftp site has been structured to allow each user access to the specific project folders they are working on Each project will have two folders "####xxxx_to_kea" and "####xxxx_from_kea".*

*Note: users will be able to read/write (upload, download, delete) to the "####xxxx_to_kea" folder but only read (download or save as) from the "####xxxx_from_kea" folder.

In order to protect our work and the privacy of our clients you will be supplied a user name and a password by KEA’s system administrator.

The FTP site can be accessed using a browser window:

1. Internet Explorer (IE) for Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP.

2. Safari for Mac OSX

Or, alternatively, an FTP program such as:

1. WS_FTP for Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP.

2. Fetch for Macintosh or other such FTP programs.

In accessing the FTP server you will need to have our IP address: Contact your KEA Project Manager for the server address. You will also need and a User Name/ ID. Per project they will be named with the number and name of the project (example:project# 9523 for the Mondrian Hotel) "9523mond". Your password will be issued by the system administrator (example: “mond####”).

The procedure for accessing the FTP site using browser windows is explained below.

• In the Address bar, type "ftp://" followed by the server IP address: Contact your KEA Project Manager for the server IP address

• The browser window will change to look like an Explorer window showing the folders  "from_kea" and "to_kea".
