Pluralistic Elementary School #1

PS#1, a progressive elementary school located in Santa Monica, has rebuilt and enlarged its facilities to include 7 classrooms, multi-purpose activity space, extended care space, library, and administrative space on its tight urban campus. KEA provided programming and master planning services including teacher, parent and community workshops. We worked under the direction of the school's Building Committee and together we have crafted a child-oriented and teacher-friendly environment that specifically addresses the school's philosophy and program.

Sustainable Design Award from The City of Santa Monica;
AIA Los Angeles Design Merit Award in 1999;
AIA California Honor Awards in 2000.
