PARK organizes the disparate elements of
the Seattle Center into a sustainable and coherent
setting. It proposes replacing the patchwork of
varied but disconnected interests on the site into a
seamless fabric of everyday activity.

AIA Seattleā€™s Urban Interventions competition asked participants to envision the nine acre Seattle Center park 50 years in the future. Our proposal re-frames principles for public space in a densifying city. In collaboration with ARUP, we developed a concept to address the historic and iconic elements of the site using sustainable strategies for transportation and resource management. The design highlights community building by interlacing everyday activities with special events to strengthen city connections and re-balance local and tourist use.
