This off-the-grid guest house provides informal space for a family
inspired by sustainability and served as a temporary living
quarters during the construction of their home on the same site.
Metal siding, wood framing, drywall, glass doors and triplewall
polycarbonate create a series of light filled spaces. A passive solar
system provides domestic hot water and radiant heat, earthtube
cooling capitalizes on an abandoned subterranean bomb shelter,
and photovoltaics offset minimal energy use.
